John McCain's Appearance on SNL: Hilarious, But Also Kind of Sad...For Him

So much was funny about Sen. John McCain's faux QVC segment on this week's episode of SNL. But Cindy McCain may have been the best part; namely because she acted like the same mute Stepford Wife she's been for the ENTIRE campaign; and she gets that it's funny. (Also, besides beer, I think she may have found her calling. Yes, Cindy's brittle hands were practically made for showcasing jewelry on QVC.)

Of additional note: Sen. McCain departed from his role as the cantankerous crankpot of the campaign trail, and came off as likable and humorous.

Here's the clip. It's hilarious,

but also kind of sad when you think about it from McCain's perspective (which you totally shouldn't do).

Sarah Palin Does SNL, Amy Poehler Raps

So the Tina Fey as Sarah Palin shtick may never end on SNL. But hey, at least it's funny. And this time the real Sarah Palin took part, appearing in the opening and Weekend Update skits.

More women need to rap while they're in their third trimester. Big ups Amy Poehler.

Oh yeah, and Mark Wahlberg also stopped by SNL. Cast member Andy Samberg made fun of the actor a couple weeks ago in a funny skit called "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals." Wahlberg however, didn't react kindly i.e. he kinda acted like a jerk afterward. So in an effort to atone for being an ass, Wahlberg, 37, talked to one (an ass that is).

Just watch the clip.

Mark Wahlberg Does NOT Talk to Animals, Spits Nails

Remember when I told you about the funny SNL skit entitled "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals"? Well apparently the real Wahlberg, 37, isn't happy about the Andy Samberg spoof.

The former underwear model vented to NYP recently, saying:
"Someone showed it to me on YouTube. It wasn't like Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin, that's for sure. And Saturday Night Live hasn't been funny for a long time. They've asked me to do the show a ton of times. I used to watch it when Eddie Murphy was there and Joe Piscopo and Bill Murray. I don't even know who's on the show now."
So not a big deal especially when you see what all the fuss is about:

Lighten up.

"Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals"

Come later today, this is the SNL skit that everyone will be talking about. With good reason. Tina Fey (as Sarah Palin) and Queen Latifah (as moderator Gwen Iffil) were hilarious.

But "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals" was pretty damn funny too. (Though maybe that's just my affinity for goats talking.)

Jennifer Hudson is engaged to David "Punk" Otunga of the VH1 show I Love New York 2. Random.

According to People, Punk popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring on Hudson's 27th birthday. The two have been dating for less than a year.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler spoof Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton, respectively, for the premiere of the new season of SNL.

Lindsay Lohan, 22, reportedly punched a paparazzo in the nose because she tripped over a metal banister on the ground; and she thought he put it there. Lohan was supposedly on her cell phone at the time and was heard saying "Oh my God, I just hit a paparazzi," according to TMZ.

I guess she was at the Bowery Room in NYC on Sunday night when it happened; and J.Lo was also there throwing a birthday party for her Skeletor hubby.

The cops were called but no charges were made because they were as bored by this story as I am.

The video of the incident isn't available...but it will be.

It's splitsville for Daisy Lowe, 19, and Mark Ronson, 33, on the off chance that you care. Also, Lowe suffered a wardrobe mishap, recently, which exposed her black thong [seen left]. So naturally people are wondering if this is Lowe's way of trying to win him back.
