MK Wants Immunity Before She Talks to Feds

Mary-Kate Olsen, 22, is refusing to talk to federal investigators-- probing into the accidental drug overdose and death of Heath Ledger--until she receives immunity from prosecution. [NYP]

Specifically, investigators are wondering where Ledger got his supply of Vicodin and OxyContin, since they were able to find prescriptions (and the two doctors who prescribed them) for all the other meds found in his apartment.

Before closing their investigation, NYC Police didn't bother questioning Olsen, which came to the surprise of many, including the The US Drug Enforcement Agency (which started its own investigation).

The masseuse who discovered Leger's body called Olsen, who, in turn, called her bodyguards (not paramedics). Her bodyguards are rumored to have arrived on the scene before emergency responders.

According to NYP, the feds contacted her lawyer, Michael Miller, several times recently seeking her cooperation, but Miller has told the feds Olsen won't be interviewed unless she gets immunity, exercising her constitutional rights.

Which raises the question: If she didn't do anything wrong, WhyTF (?!) does she need immunity?! And if, she in fact, has nothing to hide, doesn't refusing to cooperate kinda make her look bad?

This doesn't help.

[NYP] "Probers have interviewed everyone connected to Ledger and his death, including his doctors, the masseuse, bodyguards, housekeepers, business associates and even the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, his Brokeback Mountain co-star, Michelle Williams."

"Ms. Williams was extremely nice and cooperative," a source said.

Another added, "Everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate, who has refused to speak."
