Attn: Free Makeup Alert!

"Department stores like Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Filene's, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue cheated consumers by making a pact that they'd only sell cosmetic products at the suggested retail price. By doing so, there is no competition between stores, no discounts, and the consumer loses out. It's called price fixing, and it's a violation of antitrust laws, if you want to sound cool. And it happened with big cosmetics brands, too! CK One, CK Be, Eternity, Chanel No. 5, M.A.C, Clinique, and Prescriptives were all involved. And more."

What's relevant to you, is the stores have been ordered to give away $175 million worth of products starting in 2009; i.e. they're giving away $18-to-$25 worth of free makeup, per person. I'm sure at some point between May 29, 1994, and July 16, 2003 you purchased beauty products by one of the aforementioned brands from one of the aforementioned department stores (Aysha, Flocke, Kat and Ming), so make sure you get yours.

Here's how to go about it:

1. Enter in your e-mail and mailing address here or call 877-604-5776 to leave your name and mailing address. (For some reason the online form timed out on my computer, so I just called.)
2. Wait for the alert that tells you you're eligible. (The automated recording told me I would be notified via a postcard in the mail.)
3. Then get $18-to-$25 worth of free makeup!

Oh yeah, you don't have to show proof of purchase, but you do have to be a U.S. citizen.

Here's the Website. It's pretty straightforward.
