The Hills' Lauren Conrad has inked a deal to write a "loosely" autobio- graphical (surprise) three-book series for HarperCollins. The first of which is tentatively scheduled for a summer 2009 release.
"It's definitely influenced by my own life," Conrad, 22, tells People. "The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities."
Mind you, these are not to be confused with Sex and the City scribe Candance Bushnell's new book--One Fifth Avenue. While the story is set on the opposite coast, when describing how she came up with Lola, the main character, Bushnell said (in the September issue of Vogue) she was "trying to capture the zeitgeist of a young woman today, the kind for whom starring in a reality series is a serious ambition," adding "It's a rite of passage for a certain segment of young women to get breast implants, and they have a level of pampering and label awareness that is the culmination of the last 20 years of consumerism."
Sound familiar?
Anyway, don't expect Conrad to spill about the inanities of her Hills co-stars...in a totally obvious way. She says "I'm not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren't really mine to tell."
And wait, that doesn't rule out dirt on Speidi, right?
Also, this whole GD book thing is fucking unfair!! There. I said it.
