Word of the Day: Numnah

I know I'm a little slow on the uptake with this one. Forgive.

Numnah comes to the forefront thanks to Sameer Mishra, 13, this year's winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Mishra was asked to spell numnah, which according to Answers.com, "is a thick felt pad cut to the shape of a saddle and worn under it as protection for the horse's back. [It's] fitted with straps that fasten to the saddle and prevent it [from] moving."

Too bad Mishra thought he was asked to spell numbnut. Luckily, he recovered and went on to spell the right word correctly (obviously cuz he 1).
