Ty Ty Demonstrates Diva Behavior

Remember when I told you about the upcoming episode of The Tyra Banks Show, dedicated to celebrating Vogue Italia's "Black Issue" ? Well, I guess the episode is technically titled "Celebrating Black Models, Past, Present and Future." And Ty Ty reportedly acted like a big ol' B during filming. Specifically, she supposedly left the audience waiting for almost TWO HOURS while she "giggled" and "chatted" with the crew backstage.

"You could hear her going on and on because she was standing right behind the stage curtain," said one audience member. "She's talking and talking. Meanwhile, you have the entire audience waiting almost two hours for the taping to start." And our spy said when Banks finally did take her seat onstage, she had a bad attitude.

"She leaves us waiting, and everyone is sitting there complaining, and then she comes out and doesn't say a word about it. She didn't even say hello, she got right into her script," said our source. "She acted so cold towards everyone. She's a phony."[NYP]

I definitely believe the part about her "talking and talking."Although, I cut Ty Ty, 34, a little slack, considering it was such a big day for the show. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if that's how it goes down for the taping of every episode.

There is an Actual "Tranny" on ANTM This Season

At some point in, practically, every cycle of America's Next Top Model, Tyra Banks, Miss J and some of the other judges, accuse a contestant/s of either A.) looking like a tranny, drag queen, or B.) looking like a boy in a picture. (In this case they usually mean it in a good way. And sometimes they soften the blow by substituting "androgynous" for "boy.")

But this season (Cycle 11), they may have to hurl their insults with a little more tact. Because, yes, one of the hopeful models, competing, is actually transgender.

"My cards were dealt differently," Isis Tsunami, a 22-year-old former receptionist, tells Us Weekly exclusively.

And now the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is applauding Ty Ty "for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible," which means, Ty Ty is going to be talking about it A LOT.

The new season starts September 3.


I saw this on Pazzo Kevin and DListed yesterday, but wasn't sure if it was true.

Tyra Banks + Models Celebrate "Vogue Italia's" "Black Issue"

Tyra Banks and fellow models, including Chanel Iman, Veronica Webb, Noemie Lenoir, Selita Ebanks and Beverly Johnson, celebrated Vogue Italia's "Black Issue" in NYC on Tuesday. The festivities coincided with taping for an episode of The Tyra Banks Show, set to air September 11.

For its July issue, Vogue Italia, made an unprecedented move (for a high-fashion magazine), and opted to use only black models. Some people obviously liked it (I personally did). Others, not so much. Either way the magazine sold out in the U.S. and U.K. within 72-hours, according to Time. It had to "rush to reprint 30,000 extra copies for American newsstands" alone.

Though where the hell was Toccara Jones, during the celebration?!? She was in the magazine and a contestant on ANTM. BTW no Naomi Campbell either, but that's not surprising.

Update: I think I spotted Jones in this pic (6th on the left).

Tyra Banks Channels Michelle Obama in Bazaar (Updated)

I don't think Tyra Banks knows she's not doing Barack Obama any favors, by dressing up as his wife in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar (out August 19). In fact stuff like this may actually hurt his chances. You know, since, John McCain is accusing him of being the "biggest celebrity in the world."

But leave it to Ty Ty to say stuff like this:

"With Barack Obama, his becoming president is them becoming president because Michelle was there from the beginning. Without Michelle, he wouldn’t be there.” [Us]

She's a deep thinker, that one.

Some, equally stupid, famous person needs to channel Cindy McCain in Vanity Fair, stat! And they should make sure she's holding a bunch of Anheuser-Busch beer and imply that she's a spy for the Belgians...or something. (Actually that might actually work in McCain's favor. I mean who doesn't like Belgians and beer?)
